Sometimes you just need help with how you move. At BodaHealth, we offer treatment sessions that incorporate kinesiology and exercise physiology to help our patients in several ways.
Kinesiology is the science of movement. It incorporates your anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics in a way to help you move more efficiently, avoid injuries, or as a way to rehabilitate an existing injury or correct a muscle imbalance. (Source: The Trail Guide to Movement by Andrew Biel) Our kinesiology expert at BodaHealth is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CP), which is the gold standard of certification and training in this area of study.
Exercise physiology is a specialty in the field of kinesiology, in which the ability to perform physical activities while avoiding injury is the focus. In fact, often personal trainers and rehabilitation specialists are also kinesiologists.
At BodaHealth in Vancouver, our practising kinesiology instructor combines experience and knowledge in movement science with exercise physiology to help our patients with the following:
- Injury rehabilitation
- Injury prevention
- Balance issues
- Mobility and stability
- Ergonomics (making changes in your environment to prevent injury)
- Gait analysis (walking or running to avoid injury)
- Pain relief
- Restoration of function
Our kinesiology instructor works with one patient at a time to help them understand their injuries, what they should or should not do to avoid re-injury, and the best strategies for safe movement. She combines her extensive knowledge of clinical Pilates, fascial stretch, kinesiology, and exercise physiology to help patients get back to their activities of work and play and daily living, while avoiding injuries.
Our goal to help you stay active and injury-free. To that end, we are pleased to offer a number of therapies and strategies, such as fascial stretch therapy, kinesiology, and exercise physiology that are innovative, effective, and natural. Call us today to see how we can best help you keep moving!
