Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine and Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple Sclerosis is a challenging a disease involving the demyelination of the nerves of the Central Nervous System. It is a difficult condition, in that it often presents subtly usually over a long period of time. What may appear to be a brief period of fatigue all of a sudden becomes frequent, prevalent and begins to impact your life significantly. What initially appears to be a symptom of ‘your arm falling asleep’, starts to happen more often and for longer durations. That brief bout of numbness in your hand has now been an issue for several weeks. Perhaps you find your sense of balance is now off kilter. In a nutshell, you feel very ‘off’, not your normal self.
At BodaHealth we use acupuncture, Chinese medicine and nutrition, to help our MS patients improve mobility, balance, increase energy, reduce pain and address visual problems. These are just a few of the many MS symptoms, that our committed and experienced team of practitioners can address. The goal of Chinese medicine is to assess the sum of your symptoms then recognize a pattern. Through this pattern that emerges, we ascertain a Chinese Medicine diagnosis and treat accordingly. Even though you may have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, your pattern and subsequent Chinese Medicine diagnosis may differ from another individual with the same diagnosis. Therefore, the course of treatment may vary from person to person. At Bodahealth, we seek to treat the root of your problem; our practitioners will determine your Chinese medicine diagnosis and create a customized treatment plan for you.
