Mackenzie was born and raised in West Kelowna, B.C. and moved to Vancouver in 2016. She came to BodaHealth looking to take a break from pursuing her degree, and while it’s not her first foray into healthcare (she volunteered as a candy striper during high school, worked in a pharmacy, and was even a nursing student!), Mackenzie quickly learned just how right the world of holistic healthcare felt. When the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, she was able to finish her bachelor’s degree in political science at UBC online while still working at BodaHealth.
Even though working at BodaHealth is Mackenzie’s first experience working in a natural health setting, she will tell anyone who asks how much she loves it. She notes that “one of the greatest joys I’ve found in my time at BodaHealth is being able to witness the incredible health transformations that so many of our patients get to experience. While healing isn’t linear, it’s exciting to be a part of the upward trajectory of our patients’ health.”
When Mackenzie isn’t managing the clinic, she’s participating in a number of activities. She plays three(!!) instruments; piano, ukulele and saxophone, and is an avid reader and podcast enthusiast. Mackenzie and her partner are also competitive Jeopardy! players, challenging each other and keeping score each night. They also play on two softball teams in the spring and summer, and have a furry friend, Gigi the cat, who provides endless entertainment. And want to know anything about the Canucks? Just ask Mackenzie; she’s a massive fan!
Mackenzie is a true people person, which is one of the best things about being at BodaHealth. She says, “My favorite part about working at BodaHealth are the connections I get to make with our patients; I love seeing a familiar face walk through our door and being able to greet them by name and make them feel at home.”
