Acupuncturist Faith Belhacene received her training from the Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) in Surrey, British Columbia. During her intensive coursework schedule, Faith also found time to volunteer, giving presentations to faculty and members from the Department of Health. She also gave demonstrations on Tui Na and acupressure massage as a student volunteer. Faith is a member of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia (CTCMA).
As a practitioner, Faith’s passion lies in treating women’s health issues, such as hormonal imbalances, menstrual disturbances, PMS symptoms, reproductive health, fertility issues, prenatal care and pediatrics. In addition to women’s health, Faith is excited to work with any patient who seeks out treatment and is a willing partner in their own self-care. As a result, she is qualified and skilled in treating people with a wide variety of health conditions, including digestive problems, asthma, thyroid imbalances, insomnia and other sleep issues, dermatology disorders, musculoskeletal pain, migraines and other headaches, respiratory and cardiovascular problems, and mental health issues.
Faith brings her own style of treatment to BodaHealth, which includes a kind of cupping method to balance and harmonize a patient’s vital energy to reduce anxiety, stress and promote better sleep. She also uses a variety of moxibustion techniques and plasters, which is a way of warming the body to treat cold syndromes, revitalize energy and address specific health issues.
Faith is excited to be a part of the BodaHealth team and is thrilled to be able to learn from and share information with her colleagues. When she’s not practicing acupuncture, you can find Faith in the kitchen trying out new recipes, especially those that may play a role in Chinese dietary therapy. She also spends her time reading about new ideas in healthcare, enjoying time with her family and visiting animal sanctuaries, especially those protecting cats.
