Dr. Sarah Wulkan, ND was drawn to naturopathic medicine as a way to educate people in nutrition, injury prevention and rehabilitation, hormonal balancing, and counseling. In the decade before studying naturopathic medicine, Dr. Wulkan was a personal trainer. In that role, she felt limited in her ability to fully help her clients reach their health goals. On the advice of a friend, a cardiac surgeon, Dr. Wulkan went on to study naturopathic medicine. She received her Doctor of Naturopathy from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in Vancouver. Dr. Wulkan is also certified in IV Nutritional Therapy, Acupuncture, and Chiropractic.
Dr. Wulkan is medically trained, and naturally focused. She believes that health conditions often have many contributing factors, and her goal is to understand the whole picture in treating patients, rather than a one size fits all approach. Dr. Wulkan also believes that because a health condition has many underlying causes, her treatments often involve a number of healing components. She works with each patient to incorporate body, mind, and spirit in the healing process. Her treatments may involve the use of nutraceuticals, nutrition, IV therapy, acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, meditation, and counseling.
Dr. Wulkan works with patients of all ages and health conditions. Her areas of special interest include:
- Women’s health
- Menopause and peri-menopause
- Hormonal balancing
- Insomnia and sleep disturbances
- Stress and adrenal fatigue
- Weight loss
- Autoimmune disorders
- Common cold
- Children’s health
Dr. Wulkan enjoys the peaceful environment of the BodaHealth clinic, as well as being a part of a healing team. When she’s not in the clinic, Dr. Wulkan is spending time with her kids, their puppy, and enjoying the outdoors. Dr. Wulkan loves hiking, running, tennis, and traveling to locales where she can surf. She also spends her free time reading, listening to podcasts, and researching new, cool information related to naturopathic medicine.
