I am an experienced holistic nutritionist, personal life coach, and Pilates instructor. I am also certified in Bach remedy therapy and guided imagery.
Becoming a health professional has been the culmination of my journey. I acquired a BA in religious studies and philosophy at McGill University and a subsequent MA in religion from the Hebrew University. I have worked in retail and in high tech.
I was born into a romance with food; it has always played a central role in my life. I have always been chubby and have been on every sort of diet. At age 15 food became a passion and I started working in kitchens. I worked my way up, becoming a professional cook and kitchen and restaurant manager.
Eventually, I went back to school to train as a holistic nutritionist. Becoming a nutritionist seemed like a seamless, organic progression in my ongoing romance with food. Finally, I not only had the personal experience but also the professional expertise to help people who were struggling in their relationship with food and health. I also certified as a holistic coach. My goal was not only to assist my clients in identifying healthy life choices but to help them actually change their habits as well.
Over the years I managed a thriving holistic health practice. I have special experience in inflammatory issues, auto-immune, allergies, weight management, digestive disorders, hormone imbalance, migraine, and cancer.
I have also developed a signature program for eliminating emotional eating called Freedom from the Fridge, which helps release people from the shackles of emotional eating forever. It helps them reconnect with their bodies, readjust their appetites, and find harmony with food.
Ultimately, I also incorporated physical fitness into my professional repertoire. After 10 years of practicing Pilates, I became a certified Pilates instructor and have been professionally engaged in that arena since 2016. I focus mainly on the BASI Block System. The Block System ensures the progressive structuring of lessons within a flexible framework, creating sessions that are balanced, well-rounded, and address all planes of movement and multiple muscle groups. My experience also includes working with special populations, including pre and post-natal, auto-immune disorders, and inflammation.
I want people to get excited about their bodies and their lives! I want to help them realize that getting older doesn’t necessarily mean getting sicker, and that wellness comes in all shapes and sizes.
