What is Fertility Massage, and how is it different from other types of massage?
Fertility Massage is a combination of several gentle and non-invasive techniques that are used with the intention of increasing your ability to conceive. While some of the goals and outcomes are the same as conventional massage, Fertility Massage focuses specifically on your reproductive system.
Who should receive Fertility Massage?
You should receive Fertility Massage if you are either preparing to conceive, or actively trying to conceive. If you are using assisted reproductive technology, Fertility Massage can be used during all phases of the process.
What are the benefits?
Fertility Massage can help to calm your nervous system, decrease pain, increase circulation to your reproductive organs, release pelvic adhesions, and improve your digestion and sleep.
Is Fertility Massage safe, even if I might be pregnant?
Yes! We have the experience and education needed to assess which positions and techniques should or should not be used throughout your menstrual cycle and your fertility journey.
When should I receive it? And how often?
Since each fertility patient’s situation is so unique, we will develop a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. In general, a Fertility Massage is most effective on the following days: between menstruation and ovulation if you are trying to conceive naturally; between menstruation and insemination if you are using IUI; and both between menstruation and egg retrieval, and between egg retrieval and transfer, if you are using IVF. But massage therapy is safe during any day of any cycle, in terms of relaxation and addressing musculoskeletal concerns.
