Why is the Fertility Foundations program 3 months?
We start with a 3 month program for fertility for a couple of reasons. One, the timing is based on the maturity cycle of the eggs inside the ovaries. The last three months of the egg recruitment and maturity cycle the selected follicle requires about 50 days to grow and develop to the preovulatory stage. Three months, therefore, is the shortest amount of time we can work together that will have a positive impact on the health of your ovaries. Of course it takes much less time to influence your general health and the health of your endometrium. Secondly, a large part of this program is centered around body detoxification and hormone balance. These are not processes in the body that can or should be rushed, and we have found 12 weeks to be the optimal time for most women to achieve desired results in these areas.
What if I’m going through an IVF cycle?
We work with men and women in all stages of their fertility journey. However, this specific program is designed for women who are trying to conceive naturally, or have at least 3 months to work with us before their planned IVF or FET cycle. Please contact us if you don’t think you qualify for this program and we will let you know how we can help.
What if I get to the end of the 3 months and I’m still not pregnant?
Our program is designed to take you on a transformational journey and create the foundation your body needs for conception and a healthy pregnancy. Of course each body is different, and exactly when conception occurs can take less or more than 3 ovulation cycles. Even after implementing all of the positive influences and changes in your program, it can take longer than 3 months to conceive. That’s why, upon completion of your program, we highly recommend maintaining your protocols (including regular acupuncture-point stimulation, meal planning, supplementation, etc…). Most women find best results with a maintenance schedule of weekly acupuncture-point stimulation and monthly nutritional consulting.
What if I hate cooking at home?
Preparing healthy meals using organic, whole foods is one cornerstone of the Fertile Foundations program. However, if you struggle with home cooking, don’t worry. You are not alone. We can coach you through meal prep foundations that make cooking an enjoyable (not dreaded) experience. And we can start wherever you are. You don’t need to be a master chef to make this program work for you. We can tailor the meal plans and recipes to meet the needs of your busy lifestyle. In addition, for some clients who truly don’t like spending time in the kitchen, we can help you find healthy home delivery solutions that meet the nutritional needs of your fertility protocol.
What if I miss a week or two of my program?
Life happens. As committed as we know you are, things are bound to come up here and there. A trip. A deadline. There are a number of ways people fall off from time to time. But don’t worry. We’ll be here to help you pick things up where you left off. Book your next upcoming acupuncture-point stimulation session and nutritional consulting sessions as soon as you can and in those sessions we’ll discuss a strategy to help you get back on track with your dietary protocol, herbs, supplements, and acupuncture point stimulation.
Does the package expire?
Once you purchase the program the value of your credit with BodaHealth does not expire. However if you pause your program, for an extended period of time (i.e. 3 or more months), we do not recommend just picking up where you left off. You will have the option of either using your credit to repurchase the full program to start over, or using your credit towards the products and services at BodaHealth at the regular price.
Can I do the nutrition as a package and the acupuncture-point stimulation consults as one offs or vice versa?
One of the greatest benefits of this program is the integrative nature of your care and collaboration of TCM and Nutrition in a set complementary schedule. As a package it also includes discounts and bonuses you would not otherwise receive if purchased as separate services. However, should you wish to purchase nutrition services without acupuncture-point stimulation or vice versa, you are welcome to do so by speaking to our reception staff.
What is insurable?
Some patients have extended medical plans that will cover all or a portion of virtual acupuncture-point stimulation sessions. We will give you itemized receipts for your sessions that you can submit to your medical plan, or if we are able to, we will bill your plan directly. Most plans do not cover holistic nutritional consulting, meal plans, supplements and TCM herbs.
Can my partner do this with me?
We have not developed a partner program yet, however, we are happy to work with your partner while you are working through your program. Your partner can join you in your journey by purchasing their own separate sessions, at the regular price per session.
What if I’m using a donor egg?
There are many aspects of your fertility that are enhanced through the stages of our program. Whether you are using your own egg, donor egg or donor embryo, we encourage you to use this program to increase uterine receptivity, benefit overall health, balance hormones, and prepare your body for pregnancy.
What if I don’t have 3 months to work with you before my IVF cycle?
We can still work together through this program. We simply take a break from certain herbs and supplements while you are using fertility medications. Once you have completed your embryo transfer we can resume with the appropriate herbs and supplements.
What happens when I get pregnant?
Congratulations! If you get pregnant within your 3 months, we will transition you immediately into the pregnancy phase of your program. You will continue to come for weekly treatments and stay on your nutritional plan. However, we will adjust the remainder of your plan (dietary guidelines, supplements and herbs) to support your body and baby’s needs in your first trimester. Moving forward into the later stages of your pregnancy, we’ll work with you to create a personalized program that works with your needs.
What if I have a western diagnosis that affects my fertility, can you still work with me?
BodaHealth has worked with women struggling with a wide variety of health conditions affecting fertility, including (but not limited to) poor ovarian reserve, pregnancy loss, PCOS, fibroids, ovarian cysts, or upcoming reproductive health surgery. During your Initial Consultation session, you will receive a complete health assessment and we will customize phases 1, 2 and 3 of your fertility program to meet your unique health needs.
Can I do acupuncture-point stimulation more than once a week?
Yes. We offer fertility program participants the option to add additional acupuncturepoint stimulation sessions at the same discounted rate. We find that patients with PCOS, diabetes or other metabolic disorders benefit greatly from 2 – 3 sessions per week.
Can I get my money back if I don’t get pregnant?
While our past success rate is testament to the high probability that will conceive, every woman is different and, therefore, we cannot guarantee results. While we cannot offer you a refund for your purchase, if you follow our recommendations, we can offer you a new found relationship with food, appreciation and connection to your body, and improved overall health and wellbeing.
Can I pay in installments?
Unfortunately no, we cannot offer payment in installments. The program discount, bonuses and carefully selected supplements and herbs are based on a full commitment. However, patients who feel more comfortable paying in installments are welcome to purchase TCM sessions and nutritional consulting sessions a la cart.
How are virtual sessions conducted?
Virtual session are booked and conducted through our online Telehealth portal. You will be provided will easy-to-use links and details for how to book and attend your session. The only requirement is access to a computer and internet.
What is acupuncture-point stimulation?
Acupuncture-point stimulation works similarly to acupuncture in that it targets the same points that would normally be used in a clinic acupuncture session. The difference is that in virtual sessions, you (or your partner) will be the one administering the pressure. You will be guided by your TCM practitioner which acupuncture points to stimulate by applying pressure using either press needles, magnets, moxa sticks, or just your finger. Which tools you use will depend on your own comfort level. Your practitioner will send you detailed instructions for all options you choose.
