Structural Integration

Structural Integration

Structural integration bodywork is designed to correct alignment and restore flexibility. Integrative therapy will improve posture, increase flexibility and reduce pain. It is an excellent treatment for patients who feel “stuck” or restricted in daily movements and sports.

Over time the ability to maintain flexibility lessens as the body’s fascia (connective tissue between the skin and muscle) is shaped to our daily movement habits. This includes anything from injuries to prolonged sitting and repetitive movement activities. Another indication is when your body still feels stuck after you try and stretch out tension.

Structural Integration is a hands-on approach to create long lasting change in tissue and muscle that changes the body’s pain pattern. Mobilizing fascia with friction release techniques removes adhesions and scar tissue, allowing muscles to move more efficiently. The release and lengthening of fascia allows the body to return to its structurally optimal position.

Effective for issues such as IT band syndrome, knee pain, and neck and shoulder tension, benefits include improved posture, increased flexibility and reduced pain. Structural integration is designed to correct alignment and restore flexibility…let’s get you moving toward health!
