Dr. Jeda Boughton

We all want to be healthy and enjoy the freedom of well-being. Dr. Jeda Boughton can help you achieve and maintain this goal. She views the body as our most precious investment and supports her patients to achieve vitality and health through a compassionate patient-focused approach. Dr. Boughton takes great care in examining her patients’ lifestyles and whole body functioning, allowing her to identify underlying patterns of disease and internal imbalances. She addresses unhealthy patterns with a range of treatments including acupuncture, Chinese herbs, moxibustion, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications.

Dr. Boughton is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Registered Herbologist and Registered Acupuncturist, a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (FABORM) and a member of The IVF Acupuncture Group of Greater Vancouver. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the Fraser Valley and a Doctorate of Traditional Chinese Medicine from the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver. Her studies in Chinese Medicine include five years of academic training, 1,050 hours of practicum, and an internship at the Anhui Acupuncture Hospital in Hefei, China.
Dr. Boughton has been practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) since 2003. In 2008 she founded BodaHealth where she is the owner and director. She is excited to work with other skilled practitioners who specialize in acupuncture, massage, Tui Na, holistic nutrition and integrative therapies. Since beginning her practice, Dr. Boughton has focused on treating women’s health, fertility and pregnancy. As a result of her treatment success, her practice rapidly grew and has expanded to include more obstetrics and pediatrics. Recognizing the genuine need for specialized knowledge within TCM, she has undertaken extensive additional training with well-known specialists in the following areas:
- Obstetrics with specialists Jean Levesque, Bob Flaws, Debra Betts and Raven Lang
- Women’s health and pediatrics with instructors such as Randine Lewis, Jane Lyttleton, Peter Deadman, Mike Berkley, Diane Cridennda, Dr. Paul Magarelli, Brandon Horn, Wendy Yu, Bruce Robinson, Dr. Verna Hunt, Kiiko Matsumoto and Sharon Weizenbaum
- Skin disease with Dr. Robert Helmer and Mazin Al-Khafaji

With a love of teaching, Dr. Boughton shares her knowledge of TCM and specific health topics through ongoing community workshops. Examples of open-registration workshops she offers on a regular basis include:

In addition to workshops, Dr. Boughton actively contributes to the growing TCM community through her work with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia (CTCMA). She is an examiner for the acupuncture licensing exam and is a member of the exam development team for both the acupuncture and the Doctor of TCM exams. The CTCMA is the official professional licensing authority established in 1996 by the Government of BC to regulate the practice of TCM and acupuncture in the province.
